Two new challenges

We have a new challenge for you at Scrap Your Crap's today and we want to inspire you to emboss!  You could dry emboss (or deboss) with your poor neglected embossing machine and folders, or wet emboss with stamps, ink and heat set powder!  Your choice.

Here's the layout I made for this challenge.  I exacto-ed (pretty sure that's a word) a chevron design out of a piece of patterned paper that had that design and used it for a stencil with clear Versamark.  After I heat embossed the design with clear emboss powder, I brushed three shades of Mr Huey over top to let the embossed design resist the ink and let the white show through.  Making an appearance again is more of that dotted tulle.  LOVE that stuff!!

The photo is of me when I was, like, not yet 2.  I think we had just finished grocery shopping.  Either that or my mom was teaching me the finer points of being a bag lady.  Either way, I must have been a very good girl.  Enough to merit a new book about Peter Rabbit!  Loved books then.  Love them even more today.
So take a hop on over to the SYC blog to see more of what the rest of the design team came up with! I tell you, the designs from this challenge blew me away!!

And that's not all! There's a fresh challenge for you up at the Polka Doodles blog today as well!  This week it's about making a card with a summer scene on it....tell me, what could feel better than that??

Here's the card I made using images from the Sundae of Seasons (Summer) cd.  I typed a "punny" sentiment on my vintage typewriter, and glued it on one of the sentiment circles also on that cd.

Be sure to head on over to the PDblog and see what everyone else has done, and then for a chance to win a prize, post your own card for this theme!
